Does Your Business Need Social Media? Part 1

Social Media

We’re in the business of social media management, so we have no problem telling you that it can be difficult to manage all of the different options out there for getting your voice heard digitally and connecting with your customers. With that said, if the airlines and popular television (Both of those links will take you to previous posts about social media. We recommend reviewing both of them at your leisure.) have taught us anything, it’s that you need a social media presence.

Before you head out to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Google+, StumbleUpon and the fifteen other social networks that have popped up since we wrote this post to make accounts, think about these things:

Social Media Questions to Ask Yourself:

  • Are all of these social networks right for your business?
  • Are your customers using this social network?
  • Do you have the time to manage these social networks?
  • Can you afford to pay someone to manage the social networks?
  • What is your return on investment for being involved with these networks?

Stay tuned next week when we’ll dive into all these bullet points in a little more depth to make sense of some of things that we feel are important from a small business perspective. In the meantime, check out this additional reading from the HootSuite blog about How to Choose the Right Social Media Tools for Your Business.
